The department was started with B. Tech Mechanical Engineering in 2010-2011, with an intake of 60 and the number was increased to 120 in 2013. The Department has grown rapidly ever since its establishment. In 2012-2013, department started Master’s degree M. Tech in Machine Design with an intake of 18. The Department is ably supported by 13 well qualified vibrant faculties. The Department has state-of-the-art infrastructure and equipment to cater the needs of UG students. Dedicated specialized laboratories along with research laboratories are available for the needs of the M.Tech students. The department has adopted latest teaching learning processes like e-learning, power point presentations, seminars, workshops, webinars, internships, industrial training, industrial visits, expert Lectures from Industry and academic Personnel etc.
The department is well equipped with state-of-art laboratories and infrastructural facilities. The Mechanical Engineers use the key principles as well as other stock of knowledge to design and analyse manufacturing plants, industrial equipment’s, and machinery.
